Discipleship for Pastors

Would you like to enhance your discipleship skills? Have you ever been through a discipleship program? Are you curious about how to effectively disciple others who can, in turn, disciple more people? Illinois Ministries is thrilled to introduce “Discipleship For Pastors,” facilitated by Pastor David Runyon. David will lead a weekly pastors’ Zoom group starting on Tuesday, November 21 at 9:30am.

Each Discipleship Group will last for 60 minutes. Joining is as simple as signing up below.

The group will be for 9 weeks and then you have a chance to reevaluate your commitment.  The group will not meet on December 26 and January 2.

Why should you consider joining this group? Pastors can gain numerous benefits from participating in a discipleship group:

1. Spiritual Growth: Just like all Christians, pastors continue to grow in their faith and understanding of God. Being part of a discipleship group allows them to deepen their relationship with God, gain fresh insights into Scripture, and experience personal spiritual growth.
2. Accountability: Pastors often carry substantial responsibilities within their congregations, making it challenging to find accountability and support in their spiritual journey. A discipleship group provides a safe space for them to share their struggles, challenges, and victories with fellow believers who can hold them accountable and offer encouragement.
3. Community: Leadership roles can sometimes be isolating. Joining a discipleship group offers pastors the opportunity to be part of a community where they can form deep, meaningful relationships, share their hearts, and find mutual support.
4. Refreshment and Renewal: Ministry can be demanding and draining at times. Being in a discipleship group allows pastors to step away from their pastoral roles, refocus on their own spiritual well-being, and find refreshment and renewal in the company of other believers.
5. Modeling Discipleship: Pastors can lead by example for their congregation by actively participating in a discipleship group. This demonstrates the significance of ongoing spiritual growth and community within the church, inspiring others to do the same.
6. Humility and Vulnerability: Involvement in a discipleship group can help pastors practice humility and vulnerability. They can openly share their struggles and imperfections, reinforcing the idea that everyone is on a faith journey, and no one is exempt from the need for support and growth.
Sign up here to experience the personal enrichment and spiritual benefits, and to serve as a model of discipleship for your congregation while maintaining a robust support system in your own life.
